What a GREAT day for swim practice.  Be sure to order a suit and pick up a Manual and Calendar if you have not already done so.

The pool opens for the season at Noon this Saturday.  Looks like a “Memorable” Memorial Day weekend.

Monday, May 24

Wow, what a day,  WOW, WHAT A WEEK!  If no one else takes credit for this week’s weather, I will.  It was summer like to be at the pool yesterday and not have the pool heater on.  The air temperature was hotter than the 82 degrees that we keep the water so it was off.

We did do something new yesterday/today that might effect water level and/or temperature this afternoon.  After replacing all missing tiles before the pool was filled, some of the larger tiles on the steps came off once the pool was filled.  This is the kind of infraction that the Health Department could shut us down for so I made the decision to replace them now.

I lowered the water level to just below the bench level last night.  First thing this morning the tiles were replaced.  We are filling, heating, and chemically treating the water.  We should be fine by 5:00, however, this is a first so, “live and learn.”

Please do your suit sizing, if you have not already done so.                                                                               Please pick up a Manual and Calendar, if you have not already done so.                                                      Please sign up for a locker, if you have not already done so, and want one.                                                  Please plan to attend the June 11 Parent’s cocktail party

Friday, May 21

Happy Friday everyone – it seems like it took a week to get here!

I believe the weather forecast is for rain this afternoon (during practice time) and tomorrow morning (during practice time).  We will be there regardless, in case we have any die hard swimmers.

Monday’s forecast 90 degrees 🙂

Thursday, May 20

Yesterday had to be the best day for practice we have had this season.  82 degree water, bright sunshine, warm temperature, and (most importantly) lots of swimmers.  Today promises to be even better.  I will not be at practice today.  I have a district PTA Banquet tonight.  Kelsey and Parker will be there.  If  you know of any Incentive Members that have children please contact them and have them bring the kids to the pool.  We need to get all of them involved  as soon as possible.

Monday, May 17

The water was 80 degrees for Friday afternoon and Saturday morning’s practices.  It was great to see everyone that was able to stop by.  It was especially nice to met several new swimmers and parents.  Please know that the coaches know this is a very busy time of the school year for students and their chauffeurs (parents).  Please make to as many practices as possible, however, don’t overdue it.  It is important to keep swim team fun, and that can not be done with just my corny jokes!

June 11 is that last day to order custom swim suits and merchandise.  Goggles (once we get them  and caps will be available all season.

Please plan to attend the Parent’s Cocktail Party on June 11.

That is right, today we practice.

11 year olds and older 5:00 – 6:30

9 & 10 year olds 5:00 – 6:00

Today is the scheduled delivery of towels.  In case they are not there, please bring a towel or two to use after practice for the first few days.

The pool is not open for general use for anther couple of weeks.  Please understand that we are still cleaning, painting, and prepping the area for a GREAT opening on May 29.

Saturday morning practice:

11 year olds and older 9:00 – 11:00

9 & 10 year olds 11:00 – Noon

8 & Unders 11:00 – 11:30

Thursday, May 13

72 degrees and climbing!  Here at my school it has stopped raining, however, someone’s rain dance must have been a good one because the storms are suppose to start back up this afternoon.  No practice today, however, I am thinking we will be able to swim tomorrow afternoon.  Please check back Friday.

Wednesday, May 12

Pool temperature this morning is 68 degrees.  We will not have practice tonight.  Last night/today are the last of the cccccccold weather.  I will be going underneath the pool later today to light some extra candles to help heat the water 🙂
